Introduction
Physics is the father of engineering. A sound knowledge of basic science especially
Physics is extremely important for laying the foundation of a future scientist and
engineer .New researches and developments in Physics and Physical Sciences have
led to major transformations in Engineering and Technology.

There are mostly experiments from optics ,Electronics and modern physics. It contains
the experiments based on understanding fundamentals to advanced levels in the laboratory.
The experiments include Newton’s rings, Biprism, Hall effect, Planck’s constant,
and fourprobe method for resistivity measurement. Some experiments are mainly based
on Electronic circuits and Design consisting of FET amplifier ,operational amplifier
, oscillators and vibrators, logic gates etc.
To impart high quality Physics education to engineering graduates at all levels
by introducing latest curricula based on the present and future needs of engineering
and technological education in the country
Down the Memory Lane
The Department of Physics has a glorious history established as one of the earliest
Department under the Faculty of science. The Department is recognized for many significant
contributions to our understanding of experimental as well as theoretical physics.
- Dr. M.C. Sen
- Dr. O.N. Kaul
- Dr. J.S. Parihar
- Dr. A.P. Kajwadkar
- Dr. R.P. Rai
- Dr. Sandeep Pandey
It is thus very important that Physics education should become an integral part
of the whole Engineering Education. The Department of Physics is an important Applied
Science Department dedicated to impart quality Physics education to students since
the inception of this institute .The Department has the following objectives:
